Photo Research

For my punk photo research I went to Google and searched male punk models which came up with alot of punk styles - people topless, vested or clothed in leather clothing and studs. We decided to go for the punk look of topless with all their tattoos showing.

After this we researched punk tattoos which involve a lot of skulls, roses and some tribal tattoos. The majority was fantasy based such as dragons and the grim reaper. I also researched some punk bands such as blink 182 and sum41 to see what sort of tattoos they had and they fit with the classic punk style of tattoos. Some people were sporting mohawks, spiky hair and colourful hair.

Me and tom then went out and took some photos for the theme we have selected.

We then selected images between us so we could each both work on them to turn them into punk style photos. I downloaded a lot of tattoo brushes and added a lot of them to my body until I found the right ones that managed to fit on the right parts of my body and fit with the punk genre. I followed a guide on how to add them so they look realistic by changing it to multiply then changing the opacity settings ending up with something like this as the end product. I also made a lip piercing out of a paper clip to add the finishing touch of 'punkness'. I also think that to look punk you need to have a 'I dont give a
f@-k attitude which can be shown by how you stand and have complete disregard for society. You need to have a certain type of hairstyle, generally spikes all over is a good look, lip piercings and tattoos just finish the look off.
